What place is this? This is a (not very gud) picture of the NC state bell tower. it is important since it represents NC State which is where my dad went to college and where I want to go too. What was hard about it?The hardest part of the painting was the ground because I couldn't seem to make it make it look like it was at an angle like the bell tower was. What do you feel is the most successful thing in your painting?I would like to say that the most successful thing about my painting is that i'm done with it because water color is not my favorite. However that is probably not the answer you were looking for so ima have to say the sky because I like how it is darker around the edge. About the processMy process was very simple, first I tried to paint on the copy paper and that didn't work, so then I just drew it right on the final paper and then I just painted in the lines.
My Painting:Warmups: (scroll through, it's a slideshow)1. What did you learn???
I learned that there are many different methods to paint a certain thing 2. Which was most helpful for your painting??? The color wheel because it was good practice of making different colors, which I am still not very good at. 3. Which did you learn the most from??? I learned that most from the different textures because i didn't even know you could make paint look like that. 4. What are some ways to make brown??? Mix a primary color with the opposite complementary color such as red and green or blue and orange 5. How do you tone down a color??? mixing white lightens the color OR adding gray is to a color tones it (I didn't really understand the question) Below are my 3 different drawings, it's a slideshow so you may have to click the next button to see all the pictures. :)This was the most helpful warm up we did:DefinitionsComposition - Composition is the arrangement or placement of visual elements in a piece of artwork Value - Value is how light or dark the colors tone is. The Pros and Cons of Each Element:Pencil - One of the many pros of pencil drawing is its very easy to control and add in small details. Also you have the ability to add value a lot easier then a charcoal or pen drawing. One of the cons is sometimes when you erase, there's still pencil smudges or an indent in the paper that you can't get out.
Charcoal - One of the pros of charcoal is how you can always perfectly erase something if you mess up. Some of the cons are sometimes i'll be drawing on the left side of the paper and my arm smudges the right side so I have to redraw it and also even with the spray, the picture will always be able to be smudged or ruined. Pen - One of the pros of pen is that you can get a lot more contrast between 2 things in the picture since the pen is usually black. Some of the cons are it can't be erased at all if you mess up, and also it took the longest for me to draw with pen even though it was my smallest drawing. Shanell PappShanell Papp is a Canadian artist that enjoys making all types of art, but her favorite is using yarn to create creepy looking monsters. She spends most of her time at an art studio making her creations. Although her favorite is creating monsters out of yarn, she does many other things such as draw, make videos and write books. She was a website where she posts all of her artwork, videos, and stories for anyone to see. Click Here to get to her website. There are a couple reasons the Shanell Papp inspires me, first is her art is not different then most other peoples art and yet it is still very good. Another thing that is inspiring about her is how she always is trying new things. Rather its new types of art or a new type of story, she is never afraid to try different things.
